So
what IS e-Parenting Network?
It's a series of TV shows
but it's more.It's a web site
but it's much, much, more than that! It's an information resource
for Canadian parents
and it's more than that, too!
e-Parenting Network is interactive web TV where you can watch programs
about parenting issues, read and download valuable information,
and e-mail in questions you have about issues that are important
to you as a parent. Together, you, guest experts, and your host
Jayne Glenn will look at: Breastfeeding, Safety in the Home, the
Car, and in the Neighbourhood, Climate Change, Nutrition for Toddlers
and Kids at School, and Effective Parenting Strategies. There are
special pages (areas of this web site) dedicated to each topic,
and each page includes viewable video, downloadable and printable
documents, and research material as well as links to other resources.
e-Parenting Network, funded in part by Human Resources Development
Canada, is the brainchild of CICH - the Canadian Institute of Child
Health. This multi-media program allows families to access, from
their own communities, evidence-based parenting information delivered
in an easygoing, friendly manner.
e-Parenting Network is all about accessibility: bringing
the expertise closer to the parent - either live through the Internet
or via the e-Parenting Network web site.
Keep an eye on the CICH web site (www.cich.ca)
for the air dates of the live sessions. To learn more about e-Parenting
Network and how you and your community can participate please contact
the Canadian Institute of Child Health at (613) 230-8838 cich@cich.ca.
